JASK Recognized as Inaugural 451 Research Firestarter

SAN FRANCISCO & AUSTIN, Texas – October 16, 2018 – JASK, the provider of the industry’s first Autonomous Security Operations Center (ASOC) platform, today announced its recognition as a 451 Research Firestarter, a new award program recognizing companies “shaking up” their industry through innovation and disruption. As part of the industry research firm’s inaugural batch of 451 Firestarter award winners, JASK was the only autonomous security operations center (ASOC) platform provider to receive the analyst-driven accolade.

In its report, “With ASOC, JASK aims to disrupt security operations”, published August 31, 2018, 451 Research stated: “JASK applies AI and ML techniques to process information much like a tier one or tier two security analyst would do…We believe the true sustaining differentiation lies in how the company’s service unifies application operations data, directory access data, log data and network traffic that drives analytics and SOC workflows. Possession of the data in JASK’s cloud service gives the vendor the potential opportunity to penetrate deeper into customer accounts with enhanced AI/ML insights, advanced threat detection and automated workflows.”

“We hear loud and clear from every customer and prospect looking to modernize security operations that technology can no longer hinder them, but rather support their workflows and improve their efficiency,” said Greg Martin, co-founder and CEO of JASK. “This drives our mission to free security analysts from onerous data review to focus on investigating and responding to the most critical threats, make them more efficient and reduce organizational risk exposure. It’s an honor to receive such a strong validation from a leading industry analyst firm.”

451 Research introduced its 451 Firestarter program in 2018 to recognize companies in the technology industry for their exceptionally innovative accomplishments that improve and disrupt the status quo. Their team of analysts uses their expertise in the technology industry and industry disruption to identify the Firestarters.

“The modern security operations center is besieged by chronic skilled labor shortages, exploding volumes of security alerts, and expectations of board-level reporting of significant security incidents,” said Eric Ogren, senior security analyst at 451 Research. “With legacy SOC platforms growing long in the tooth, we see a revolution brewing in the market, creating a huge opportunity for disruptors like JASK. Our recognition of the company as a 451 Firestarter is based on the differentiation in JASK’s approach combined with the proven experience of the JASK team.”

The 451 Research Firestarter honor adds to the company’s significant momentum this year. Last week, JASK was recognized as a prestigious CNBC Upstart 100 award winner and announced the appointment of industry veteran Jessica Couto as its new channel chief. Earlier in the year, JASK launched its Special Ops threat hunting service, closed a $25 million Series B funding round, added world-class talent to its leadership team and announced several key strategic partnerships with top cybersecurity brands to bolster the abilities of the JASK ASOC platform.

Founded in 2015, JASK has dual headquarters in San Francisco and Austin, Texas. For more information, visit or follow JASK on Twitter (@jasklabs) and LinkedIn.
